Having spent the past twenty days building Cruz Pedregon’s “Tribute to Joe Pisano” ‘77 Plymouth Arrow for the 18th California Hot Rod Reunion from a bare chassis and boxes of parts, the crew at Donnie Couch’s West Coast Funny Car Factory celebrated the finished project over the weekend.
Couch said, “There’s no way that this funny car could have been finished, in such a short period of time without this great group of friends. And for all the keyboard crew chiefs who said it couldn’t be done, we’ll see you on the Famoso starting line on Saturday afternoon.” Soon after the photo was taken, nitro funny car driver Mendy Fry warmed the 426 Hemi engine for Couch’s Whittier, California neighbors.
